What is the blade of the Spyderco Para Military 2 CRM made of?

However, the model we're talking about today is a truly remarkable version of the Para 2. It features Crucible's powder metallurgical answer to D2: CPM CRUWEAR. Heat treatable to 65 HRC, CPM CRUWEAR has a better edge, thanks to more vanadium carbides, which are harder than the chromium carbides in D2, for example. It also has extra wear resistance, which complements the fully flat-ground blade nicely.

What is the handle of the PARA MILITARY™ 2 CPM® CRU-WEAR® MICARTA® made of?

To top it off, this legend of a knife has been given the gift of classic brown Micarta handle scales that will develop a beautiful patina over time. It is a real pleasure to look at and offers a great non-slippery grip. As with the original G10 scales, the Micarta version also supports four carrying options.

Who designed the Spyderco PARA MILITARY™ 2 CPM® CRU-WEAR® MICARTA®?

The Spyderco Para Military 2 is the unmistakable flagship of their lineup. Designed by Spyderco founder Sal Glesser and his son Eric, it is the culmination of their design and manufacturing experience. With an unbeatable construction, featuring Spyderco's own compression lock, it has become a real fan favourite. It's no surprise that there are an overwhelming amount of aftermarket and custom parts for this line of knives.

The Para Militaries have been produced with CPM S30V blade steel for years, with the exception of sprint runs and dealer exclusive editions. Since this year they have made the switch to S45VN in the Para Military 2 and Para 3 models. Spyderco is known for their Constant Quality Improvement (or CQI). With this, they often update models with new hardware or design features to help improve the production process. Switching to S45VN was a good example of CQI
