We recently bought this beautiful dagger from a real collector. It's Kershaw's Trooper 1007. The Trooper is a legendary Kershaw dagger produced from 1978 to 2009.
When was the Kershaw Trooper 1007 made?
This particular piece was manufactured in 1979 as seen on the certificate of approval, originally signed (not printed) by Pete Kershaw! That makes him 43 years old...
Where was the Kershaw Trooper 1007 made?
Manufactured in Japan by none other than Ichiro Hattori, the world famous knife maker known for his work with Fällkniven, Cold Steel, SOG and other premium brands.
It is also the only model made by Kershaw with serial numbers from start to finish, further increasing the high collectability of this beautiful piece.
The specifications of the Kershaw Trooper
The Trooper comes in the original collector's box with a beautiful leather sheath with a boot clip.
The Kershaw Trooper has a double-edged blade made of AUS8A steel. It was forged by none other than Hattori in Japan.
The blade, cap and pommel are all polished to a mirror finish, which gives it a rather elegant look. Believe it or not, the handle itself is an ebony hardwood. It's hard to see in the pictures, but the grain of the wood is visible and very beautiful! Brass spacers separate the ebony from the guard and pommel. On one side of the guard is the unique serial number of this dagger. The pommel has a cord hole.
Enthusiasts who know the Trooper will appreciate this blast from the past for obvious reasons. If you didn't know, or haven't had a chance to check it out yet, we highly recommend it. It is an incredibly handsome piece of knife making in pristine condition. And if you had never heard of Ichiro Hattori, check out his stuff.
