JOHN LEE DRAGON TOKUNI KATANA 103 CM SWORD

€199,95 EUR
The dragon still plays an important role in Japan, and not only when it comes to New Year's celebrations. Unlike Western mysticism, in Japan the dragon is a mystical creature said to bring good luck to people. The katana has a hand-forged blade of carbon steel with a fine hamon and is tempered in a traditional way. The tsuba of this remarkable sword features a dragon surrounding the sword. The sharp blade is equipped with a hi (fuller) to reduce the overall weight. The handle (tsuka) is made of wood, covered with real fish skin and equipped with two menukis. In addition, it is traditionally wrapped in black cotton. The tongs are particularly long and are secured with two bamboo pins (mekugi). The scabbard (saya) is made of wood and the blade collar (habaki) is made of brass. This katana is made according to original museum exhibits. The sword comes with a certificate of origin, wrapped in cloth and packed in a high-quality wooden box. All measures are subject to estimates.
